Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Honors.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Achievements
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in earnings.
She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
