The loved ones of teenagers unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a establishment in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for confirmed information and appealing for information about their children online.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and injured another 119. Authorities stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work ongoing to locate the remaining few.

In the meantime, families and friends have been posting on online platforms to appeal for information about their loved ones who were present at the venue that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his mother.

The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is dead, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"A companion told me they ran away after the fire started and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers stated, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, alongside great responsibility. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an appeal on social media, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
