The loved ones of teenagers unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a establishment in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for confirmed information and appealing for information about their children online.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and injured another 119. One of his teachers stated, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, alongside great responsibility. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an appeal on social media, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
