Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
